Tracy’s interest in bodywork began early, with her own pain. Born with bilateral club feet, she went through reconstructive surgeries from a very early age, and soon learned to accept pain as simply a part of life. “When I was a kid I thought everyone felt this. In my early 20s when the pain would get bad, I instinctively rubbed my feet; my interest grew from there.”
Tracy went to massage school in 2008. Her continuing education has included forays into foot reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, and the thing that has most resonated with her and shown up in her practice: intraoral work for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. Tracy specializes in injury rehab and the treatment of chronic pain. “I love working with senior citizens and people that live with chronic pain. Children with anxiety who benefit from learning how to engage with their parasympathetic nervous system and adults with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and autoimmune diseases. I enjoy understanding, connecting, and helping people with unseen issues cope with life and the cards they've been dealt.” Tracy’s work creates space and movement for muscle groups that aren’t performing to their optimal range of motion. Guided by her belief in the body’s innate healing abilities, Tracy knows that massage need not be painful to be effective. With a profound ability to assist her clients in achieving deep states of relaxation, even her deep tissue treatments are deeply relaxing! In all her work, Tracy honors the complexity of the mind/body and of every issue her clients bring to her. One of her favorite areas to work in is the hips, “because it's a puzzle that encompasses everything from spine to hips to knees, legs, and feet!” Her own journey with pain reflects that complexity. She keeps the issue under control through multiple approaches. “Good shoes and custom orthodics from my podiatrist, doing stretches from toes to ankles to shins, not standing or sitting too long, making sure my lateral hips and quads aren't too tight . . . It's all so connected!” A Tucson native, Tracy likes to unwind by binge-watching true-crime shows on Discovery+ and spending quality time with her cat, Nollie, and her two rescue dogs, Leela and Beatrix. |
