Meghan's peaceful, elemental massages return the body to healthy alignment. She believes in our capacity to heal ourselves, especially given a safe environment and skilled, empathetic support. She finds and relieves areas of tension and works to find lasting solutions. She honors the emotional and spiritual side of massage, recognizing it as crucial for supporting both grief and self-discovery.
Her passionate interest in the human body began with dance. As a dancer, she found that the strength and emotional depth of dance created significant healing in her life. “During massage school,” she says, “I discovered a cafe with a window into a ballet studio. I would sit there to study, just to remind myself of the beauty that’s possible in the human body.” At the same time, dance is physically demanding, and the deeper she went into that practice, the more she wanted to learn about the body. She was drawn to traditional and manual therapies and the time-honored practice of working with our hands and natural elements to restore health. She had also worked with children for many years as a nanny and understood how essential touch is for us to thrive. Meghan graduated valedictorian from the Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy. Since graduating, she has provided massage for the athletes of Aerial Dance Chicago and the Chicago Marathon and worked in multiple spas and clinics. She interned at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, a top research hospital for physical medicine, and has studied with physical therapists, acupuncturists, and midwives. In addition to massage therapy, Meghan also offers craniosacral therapy, abdominal massage, reiki, lymphatic drainage, and myofascial work. Her style is gentle, strong, and effective. She provides support for recovery after injury, trauma, surgery, repetitive stress, and athletic training and events. She treats headaches, TMJ disorder, sciatica, scoliosis, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, digestive issues, and more. |
