Born and raised in Arizona, Sheraton pursued a nursing career straight out of high school that kept her busy for 17 years while raising her three daughters. Working on the orthopedic floor at Tucson Medical Center, she was intrigued by the way treatment of patients recovering from joint surgery evolved.
"Recovery times started speeding up as research showed that, when you get people mobile and using their joints sooner after surgery, they recover faster and better. I had a favorite physical therapist there who would answer my questions about all of these changes. I would always say that I loved the kinesiology part of the explanation and wished that I had pursued that avenue instead of nursing. Going back to school for physical therapy was unrealistic at that time, but he suggested massage therapy as a way to provide a similar impact on patients and satisfaction for me. I looked into schools and enrolled immediately!" Sheraton brings to her work a nuanced understanding of the human body and how it functions. And while her medical training informs her bodywork, the core of her practice is a profound respect for the individuality of each client. She wholeheartedly believes in adapting her approach to meet the specific physical and mental needs of the person on her table. If you've been seeking a therapist who blends expertise with a genuine care for your wellbeing and comfort, Sheraton is uniquely qualified to provide that. Her expertise extends into specialized areas such as deep-tissue and neuromuscular massage, addressing rotator-cuff and shoulder dysfunction, diminishing neck tension, and relieving sciatica and lower-back pain. When Sheraton is not at work, you will find her and her family at a lake, water skiing and camping. The newest addition to her family is a little pug that has brought a lot of joy to her adventures on the water. |
