Tracie has always been intrigued by holistic healing and how things interact in humans—as she puts it, “the human body by way of the mind.” Her long-standing interest in psychology and biology led her to massage school, where she found another compelling interest: anatomy. “The human body is a fascinating mystery, and just seeing how the outside world affects the body interests me. I enjoy learning about the various muscles and how they move and affect one another.”
This systemic perspective informs her work. “When I work with clients,” she says, “I like to work structurally to help aid in injury improvement. Clients have told me that I am intuitive in my work and quickly find the problem spots. They appreciate my slow and attentive work. I also like to give clients stretches that are helpful for their betterment.” Many of her clients are people with sedentary office jobs who have developed chronic pain issues, such as fibromyalgia or plantar fasciitis, but many are runners or walkers and people with hypermobility. Some of the modalities she integrates into each treatment are Swedish and deep-tissue massage, trigger-point therapy, reiki, and lymphatic massage techniques. Some of her favorite areas to work are the hips and shoulders. Born in Michigan but raised in Tucson, Tracie stays close to her family in Arizona. She describes herself as an easy going person. “I am goal oriented but also enjoy the spiritual side of life and my work. I love learning and therefore have a lot of interests. I write short stories, paint, and read a lot. I was adopted by three cats who all decided to move in with me and have been a joy to live with. My current focus is herbalism and making scrubs and lotions.” |
