Nick is a Tucson native with a passion for compassion. Raised in homes that emphasized tolerance and community, collaboration has always been close to his heart. Outreach, empathy, and meaningful connections are the pillars of his personal and clinical approach. Driftwood Acupuncture was established in 2020 to embody those principles.
Coming from a professional background that includes work in the fields of mental and behavioral health, addiction, and recovery, Nick has found Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture to be an effective way to treat the unique nuances of the human condition that remains universally accessible.
Acupuncture treatments include a verbal intake/assessment followed by acupuncture, tuina, and/or herbal prescriptions based on the therapeutic goals of each patient. Nick works together with each patient to discover how behaviors, routines, and patterns may be affecting their health, to see what's working for them and against them in daily life.
Tuina patients can expect a brief intake to discuss their health concerns or treatment goals related to the session, followed by a full hour of hands-on work. Tuina is performed with clothes on, so patients should wear something comfortable. Patients benefit from the immediate effects of the session as well as the residual and lasting health benefits. Tuina is perfect for orthopedic conditions or injuries, health and stress management, and general relaxation.
In a world that can feel increasingly confusing, the diagnostic and therapeutic principles of the TCM model of health have remained steadfast and efficacious. Nick believes that our individual and communal health is one of the most important resources we have, and nurturing both of those things starts with mindfulness and empathy; both for ourselves and others. Let’s make the world a little more comfortable for everyone.
