Katie Montano, LMT
Cortiva Institute, Tucson
Neck and shoulders, chronic-pain relief, pregnancy massage
A Tucson native, Katie started doing massage when she was small enough to walk on the backs of her family members, giving them “mini massages.” As an adult, she took on the responsibility of caring for her grandfather. She took her natural inclination to nurture and help to massage school, where, after graduating, she took continuing education classes in hot- and cold-stone massage, prenatal massage, cupping, and myofascial release.
Katie believes that massage should be both beneficial to your body and a wonderful experience, and that deep work doesn’t have to be painful. Her sessions incorporate relaxing Swedish massage, targeted deep-tissue work, stretching, and cupping—all as the client’s needs dictate. She specializes in neck and shoulder work and helping desk workers, pregnant women, and those suffering chronic pain.
Outside of work, Katie spends as much time as she can with her young daughter, going to the park or the zoo. She enjoys baking, spending time with her family, taking small road trips to different towns, and trying new restaurants.
