Bethany has been a licensed and nationally certified massage therapist since 2005. She became certified in MotherMassage in 2006 and has been a Certified Lymphedema Therapist since 2010. A native of New Jersey and a University of New Hampshire alumnus, Bethany has felt drawn to the Southwest since her internship at Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah, in 2001; by 2007, she had relocated to Tucson.
Over the years, she has enjoyed providing therapeutic massage to a wide variety of clients: pre- and post-natal women, weekend warriors, retirees, those suffering from repetitive stress conditions and autoimmune disorders, cancer patients, children, teens, college students, and athletes. She believes everyone deserves a massage to manage the physical and mental stress that comes from the demands of modern life. Since 2010, she has focused her lymphatic work on helping cancer patients understand and manage their lymphedema. Massage has always been an inspiring and humbling practice, and she is always learning from her clients and her fellow peers. Her calming pace and, if appropriate, incorporation of specific work create a relaxing yet therapeutic treatment. To tailor the massage session to each client's needs, she uses a variety of modalities, including stretching, trigger-point therapy, Swedish massage, myofascial, and compression. Bethany’s hobbies include hiking, camping, craft projects, pottery, gardening, walking her dog, and riding her beloved mare Montana, as well as attending Zumba, gymnastics, tap, and Pilates classes. Her life goals include sharing her love of travel with her son and revisiting some of her favorite places—Utah, California, Alaska, England, Ireland, the British Virgin Islands, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia—as well as exploring new places like Poland, Scotland, Iceland, Hawaii, Oregon, and New Zealand. She relishes the idea of reading him the Harry Potter and Wizard of Oz book series as well. Hoping to combine her love of animals with her massage practice, she plans to attend an equine massage seminar in 2020. Bethany looks forward to helping you on your path to health, relaxation, and wellness. |
