Ariel comes from a lineage of healthcare providers. “I’m the fourth generation to practice, in my own way,” she says.
“This path revealed itself to me after my father passed. I had an epiphany that I was meant to work in the fields of healing and education. One evening, while surfing alone on the Hāmākua Coast of the Big Island at sunset, I just knew. Watching the waves slip onto the shore and the sun sink into the water, it became clear that I was meant to work with my hands.” With more than a thousand hours of education, Ariel has been using her hands to help others heal for over a decade now. She takes an integrative approach to bodywork, combining advanced technique with compassion and intention. Bringing together many diverse modalities—such as Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai, orthopedic, prenatal, sports, cupping, and medical massage—she crafts personalized treatments that support the body’s natural capacity to heal. Ariel works effectively with a wide range of conditions, including TMJ dysfunction, frozen shoulder, hip- and shoulder-mobility issues, and pain or tension in the gluteal region. She enjoys working with all populations and adapts each session to meet individual goals, whether for relaxation, recovery, or restoration. “I see the body as a living work of art, where I can blend modalities to create a unique experience for each individual.” The curious, adventurous approach Ariel has to life and to the outdoors also shows up in her bodywork. “I’ve always been a kinesthetic and visual learner. My lifelong love for the healing arts, sciences, philosophy, psychology, and spirituality all seem to weave together perfectly in bodywork. Becoming a massage therapist feels like a way to fuse all of these interests into one practice.” Ariel’s pricing aligns with Rooted’s rates, with the exception of her two-hour bodywork session, which is $220. Outside of Rooted, Ariel serves the greater Tucson area with mobile sessions through A.Starr Therapeutics (pricing varies from Rooted’s). Originally from Alaska, and here by way of Montana, Ariel returned to Tucson after having passed through during her time as a wildland firefighter with the US Forest Service. On any given day off, you can usually find her at Saguaro National Park, a coffee shop, or wandering through an art museum—or really any kind of museum. “After years of traveling, working different jobs outside of bodywork, and experiencing life, I’ve finally returned home to my authentic self.” MT-50472
